If you think that the artists painting these walls, are all as fast as Onio, Onesto and Yusk, you’re wrong. Some of them really work hard to get all the details and effects perfectly in shape…Dalata is one of them. He is sweating and suffering in his struggle to end his work on his wall in the Boomgaardhof. It isn’t easy now the weather is changing and wind and rain are bothering every now and then. The result though, is one we can enjoy for long…People are very entusiastic about the art and sit for hours to observe the mysteries Dalata hid in the painting…

Until so far...

crazy!

Crazy crazy!
And we reached the news again…!

yeah!!

Nice article...!
It is always surprising what to expect when passing by at Dalatas wall. In the mornings he is never there. He starts in the late afternoon and prefers to paint at night. In Holland, there’s a law that you can’t make “noise” after 22hs. so Dalata had to adapt himself to the daylight. His sunglasses are permanently stuck on his face to create a certain superficial darkness. This time we where lucky and found him in higher atmospheres…

Dalata no alto

In the early days in Holland, there was another rule, which had to do with tax. Landowners only had to pay tax for the square meeters in the ground, not in the air…that’s why many buildings in Holland are very thin, but very high….

Muito alto!

Packed with a beamer, 20m. of electric cable, Aron, private camera man Gustavinho, rols of tape and black transparant spray…Dalata went on his way to his wall in the Boomgaardhof to sketch the first lines…
In Brazil we have an old saying that goes “não tenha os olhos maiores do que a barriga” which basically means don’t have an appetite bigger then your stomach. Well, the graffiti artists found that to be true now that they got a closer look at the walls. Datala for instance, didn’t realize how much the cherry pick elevator shakes around when it moves.
Yusk only found out how big his wall really was when the 27 meter high elevator, when fully elevated, wasn´t anywhere near the top of his wall. But in Brazil we also have a saying that goes, “missão dada, missão cumprida”, and if you translate that, you got ” mission given, mission acomplished, so lets get to work!

Olho grande...

Shaking his but off...just like all the others!!

gustavo, dalata, and gustavinho, feeling nice and confortable @ hilton!
Graffiti artists always urge to paint. Even going to bed very late the night before, Gais, Dalata, Stile and Speto were up at 8 a.m. to get cans to paint a collective wall in the centre of Rotterdam. The wall was organized by the super cool hip hop festival Street Science, and artists from all over Holland were there. As it couldn’t be different a lot of curious people stopped by to check it out, and got totally surprised with the unexpected Brazilian style. Big up to our boyz! Big up to Street Science!
